You should agree that apps are what make the iPhone a functional gadget, capable of performing a lot of useful tasks. But since Apple smartphones are not equipped with the ability to expand the memory, over time, almost every user is faced with the question of deleting unnecessary information. Today we will look at ways to remove applications from the iPhone.

Deleting apps on iPhone

So, you need to completely remove applications from your iPhone. You can perform this task in different ways, and each of them will be useful in its case.

Method 1: Desktop

Open the desktop with the program you plan to remove. Press your finger on its icon and hold it down until it begins to “wobble”. An icon with a cross will appear in the upper left corner of each application. Select it.

Confirm the action. Once this is done, the icon will disappear from the desktop and the removal can be considered complete.

Also, any installed app can be uninstalled through the Apple device settings as well.

Open settings. In the window that opens, go to the “Basic” section.

Select “iPhone storage.”

Method 3: Downloading apps

There is such an interesting feature in iOS 11 as application unloading, which will be especially interesting to users of devices with small memory capacity. The idea is that the application will be freed up space on the device, but at the same time, all documents and data related to it will be preserved.

The application icon with a small icon in the form of a cloud will also remain on the desktop. As soon as you need to access the program, just select the icon and your smartphone will start downloading. There are two ways to perform the download: automatically and manually.

Note that you can restore the downloaded application only if it is still in the App Store. If for some reason the program disappears from the store, you will not be able to restore it.

This is a useful feature that will work automatically. Applications you access less frequently will be unloaded from your smartphone’s memory. If you suddenly need an application, its icon will be in its original place.

To activate auto-downloading, open the settings on your phone and go to iTunes Store and App Store. At the bottom of the window, flip the toggle switch near “Unload unused”.

You can specify which programs will be unloaded from the phone. You can do this through the settings.

Open settings on your iPhone and go to the “General” section. In the window that appears, select the “iPhone storage” section.

In the next window, find and open the program of interest.

Tap the “Download Program” button and then confirm your intention to perform this action.

Method 4: Full removal of content

There’s no option on the iPhone to delete all apps, but if that’s what you need to do, you’ll need to perform a content and settings wipe, which is a complete device reset. And since this issue has already been addressed previously on the site, we will not dwell on it.

Method 5: iTools

Unfortunately, the ability to manage applications has been removed from iTunes. But to uninstall apps from your computer you can use iTools, which is similar to iTunes, but has a much wider range of capabilities.

Connect your iPhone to your computer and then run iTools. When the program detects your device, go to the “Applications” tab on the left side of the window.
